The Thumbprint Project Foundation has partnered with local optometrists to provide at-risk children with a vision and eye health exam which is a contributor to their overall health and wellness.
Vision of the Future Brochure:
Children need regular eye exams because vision is crucial for learning and development and early detection of potential eye problems can significantly impact their academic performance, social interactions, and overall well-being.
A comprehensive eye exam can identify issues like misaligned eyes, focusing difficulties, or refractive errors BEFORE they affect their ability to read, write, or play sports, even if they don't show visible symptoms. Eye exams can also indicate underlying health concerns that might not be apparent otherwise.
The MISSION of the San Diego County Optometric Society is to serve the public and its members through excellence in community service, education, and leadership.
